A nice tutorial on Drupal in Italian

Logo Drupal Having to put me to understand and learn Drupal to work I came across the problem of finding tutorial in Italian, which allowed me to immediately enter the key points of the logic of this Open Source CMS.

I must say that the search was brief, because thanks to the usual search engine :-) I managed to find a link to a guide in the language of the Peninsula, which allowed me to understand some concepts.

A salute to Virgil Search Team

Well having now spent my last day at Matrix Consulting can say, without having to come to hear me say thank you, that big, etc.. the past three years in the group's search of Virgil were very beautiful. We often talk of Italian firms as entities that ape the New American Economy, which are ready to copy everything but not able to create anything.

I invite you to look at how it changed the interface of the search engine Virgilio last year. This is the work of the good guys, that despite their flaws, have the qualities and a passion for their tasks that I have found very few people along the Boot.

I'd like to make their names, but privacy prevents me, I would also not my fault that one day their emails were studded with absurd or unnecessary questions.

I tell you that if you talk to discover that they are normal people, not if they pull it and are always willing to lend a hand in technology to those who ask.

Some of them have blogs, but it is not mine to reveal the url, because others do not have them so busy they can not create it, and still others are too busy refining techniques on SEO blog earlier.

Well hello to all the Search, and even the super head, that despite the degree that covers a person is always available and does not mind moments of hilarity with his subjects.

Bye bye

Social Network with PHP

6 commenti November 24, 2008 Nicholas 6 comments

Now there is talk of nothing else. Social networks have invaded our lives, whether niche or generalist.

Who among you has not heard of Facebook? Myspace? Xing?

As an end user this may be satisfactory, but as a programmer might happen that you need to build your own social network, be it amateur or a client interested in Web 2.0.

Why do we always reinvent the wheel if there are already two products that are open to our case?

If you want to check it out here they are:

  • Elgg : he won the award for best open source platform for social networking 2008.
Also you already have a book of Packt Publishing for those who want to deepen the
characteristics. But if you do not mind spending money, you can use the documentation provided on the official website of Elgg.
  • PHPIZABI : software downloaded already some hundreds of thousands of times and used in professional sites. The documentation is complete and helps the developer to move into the components of Phpizabi with relative ease.

Some of you I can say that there are other more powerful, but the ones listed here are free, editable and expandable, as the source code available to anyone.

There remains but to try and realize their own potential.
